Analysis of Perception and Experiences of the Disabled Students on School Violence - Focusing on the College Students who Studied in Rehabilitation and Social Welfare Departments in P Area -

Abstract
This study analyzed the perceptions, types, and experiences of school violence in a sample of 200 disabled and non-disabled college students. Next, the students were to suggest effective strategies to improve school violence. First, there were significant differences in students¡¯ perception in terms of seriousness of school violence between student groups with and without disability. Second, 66.1% of students with disabilities reported that they experienced or witnessed school violence. The types of school violence identified were: distressing, intimidating, bullying, and verbal, physical and sexual harassment. In addition, 48.5% respondents reported that strict punishment should be done to offenders, while active operation of school counseling was preferred by only 20.5% of students, and 19% answered on the improvement of harmful environment.
